OUR RADIOGRAPH

  • An integral part of performing routine and non-routine x-rays

  • Provides specialized radiographs for hip dysplasia diagnosis

  • Our hospital is certified to perform PennHIP and Orthopedic Foundation of America x-rays for hip dysplasia in dogs

    • PennHIP is a health service program at the University of Pennsylvania

    • By receiving certification in this program, our hospital has become part of the network of trained veterinarians who use PennHIP radiographic screening methods

    • These are proven to be more accurate than many other common methods in their prediction of hip-related ailments.

    • We also provide our findings to a shared medical database, whose information benefits the veterinary community by providing more precise answers to questions about hip dysplasia

OUR DIGITAL X-RAY

  • Digital radiology, or "x-ray", is an imaging tool that provides a non-invasive method of examining your dog or cat's internal organs and internal systems

    • Such as musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary (heart and lungs), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems

  • The image quality of a digital x-ray is much higher than a film x-ray and there is no time lost in the processing of the image

    • Since digital images can be visualized within a few seconds following exposure, the amount of time your dog or cat is away from you for the testing procedure is reduced

  • Allows us to diagnose and treat your pet promptly

  • Environmentally friendly

    • No chemicals to contaminate water systems

  • Decreased radiation exposure for your pet

    • A less than ideal image can be manipulated via computer

WHY DIGITAL RADIOLOGY?

  • This procedure is useful in assessing bone and joint abnormalities and injuries

  • Can detect the presence of foreign material inside the body

  • Screens for abnormalities in the internal organs

  • Can screen for certain cancers

  • Typically does not require any form of sedation

  • Facebook - Black Circle
